A short while ago, I took the Lubitel 2 TLR camera out for a wander, stuffed with Lomography’s Earl Grey 120 format film (ISO100). On this occasion, I decided also to experiment with a light meter app on my phone, doing my best to transfer those settings to the limited options available on the Lubitel.
I discovered a few things when developing the three films:
– the Lubitel’s lenses are misaligned, meaning that what I thought I was taking a photo of and what I actually took are slightly different
– there is a different alignment issue, in there is a marked focus drop off on the left side of the images
– the camera doesn’t wind films straight
– there might be a light leak too!
